Dear Carers and Families,
It is certainly unprecedented times that we find ourselves in and I hope this email finds you and your family well.
The COVID-19 situation has affected all of us in one way or another. As we see daily on the news, we are fighting coronavirus on both a health and an economic front, which has greatly amplified the impact of this virus on our lives.
The situation is also changing rapidly, whilst here in Australia we are seeing an encouraging “flattening of the curve”, many of us have family and friends overseas thus this is a worrying time as we watch what is happening in other parts of the world.
Amidst this crisis, I have been encouraged to see the lengths many aged care providers are going to to ensure the safety and protection of their residents against coronavirus. As a testament to the efforts of all those working in the aged care sector, the infection rates of coronavirus within aged care facilities have remained exceptionally low.
I personally want to acknowledge the residential aged care workforce; from the nursing staff to the cleaners and the administration staff to the catering teams, they are all working tirelessly to adapt and change, often on a daily basis, to the challenges that coronavirus is presenting. We truly applaud all that they are doing.
The need for aged care in the Australian community has not changed because of coronavirus, however, the decision-making environment for families has become more complex. We are committed to assisting families now, as always, to navigate aged care placement.
At Aged Care Decisions we are working closely with our partner providers to ensure that we are kept up to date with any changes that are occurring due to COVID-19. We have implemented systems to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 action plans of our aged care providers in real-time so that we can provide the best placement advice to families needing to find care options.
We have also extended our hours of operation to include weekends and evenings in an effort to further support families who come to us for advice and support. As the coronavirus situation continues to evolve, we will accordingly adjust our service to meet your needs and support you when you need us.
If you need to access our free service for support, guidance or information myself and my team are here to help. Please send me an email to [email protected] and either myself or one of my team will be in touch as soon as we can to assist.
