Each package provides an annual budget based on individual care needs. This budget can be spent on a variety of services, including assistance with household tasks, nursing, and medical care.

How to Apply for a Home Care Package in Victoria?
To apply for a Home Care Package, you need to complete an ACAT assessment through My Aged Care and an income and assets test via Services Australia (Centrelink). You can arrange an ACAT assessment by calling My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or by requesting a referral from your healthcare provider in Victoria.
Funding Levels for Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages are available across four levels, reflecting the amount of care
required. Each level offers a specific annual budget and an estimate of weekly care
hours. To be eligible for a Home Care Package, you must be at least 65 years old (or
50+ if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) and require support to live
independently in your own home.

What Can Home Care Package Funds Be Used For?
Funds from a Home Care Package can be utilised for services and supports that
address your care needs. They cannot be used to cover everyday living expenses
such as rent, groceries, or entertainment.
