Each package offers an annual budget tailored to an individual’s assessed needs, which can be used for a range of services including household help, nursing, and medical care.

How to Apply for a Home Care Package in Queensland?
To access government-funded home care services, you must complete an ACAT assessment through My Aged Care, and an income and assets test through Services Australia. You can arrange an ACAT assessment by calling My Aged Care at 1800 200 422 or requesting a referral from your doctor or healthcare provider in Queensland.
Funding Levels for Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages are offered across four levels, based on the amount of care needed. Each level includes a specific annual budget and an estimated number of weekly care hours. To qualify for a Home Care Package, you need to be at least 65 years old (or 50+ if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) and require assistance to live independently at home.

What Can Home Care Package Funds Be Used For?
Funds from a Home Care Package can be used for services and supports that address your specific care needs. However, they cannot be used to cover everyday living expenses like rent, groceries, or entertainment.
