To apply for a Home Care Package, you need to complete an ACAT assessment through My Aged Care and an income and assets test via Services Australia (Centrelink). You can arrange an ACAT assessment by calling My Aged Care at 1800 200 422 or by asking your healthcare provider in South Australia for a referral.
To qualify for a Home Care Package, you must be at least 65 years old (or 50+ if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) and require support to live independently in your own home.
Funding Levels for Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages are available in four levels, depending on the amount of care
needed. Each level comes with a specific annual budget and an estimated
number of weekly care hours.
