How Physiotherapy Works Within Home Care

Physiotherapy is a clinical service funded through Support at Home, the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or the Restorative Care Pathway when recommended in an aged care assessment.

What government funding covers:

Under Support at Home, physiotherapy is classified as clinical care. The government fully funds clinical services (100%), which means you generally do not pay out-of-pocket for physiotherapy consultations when they are part of your approved care plan. This covers the physiotherapist’s time to assess, treat and create a home exercise plan.

What you may pay:

Because physiotherapy is clinical care, you typically do not contribute towards consultation fees. However, if you need specific equipment (such as walking aids, resistance bands or specialised footwear), this may be provided through the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme, which has separate funding and may include a small contribution depending on your income assessment.

This means, if you have physiotherapy in your care plan you can access professional rehabilitation without the high cost of private appointments.

How We Support You in Finding the Right Home Care

Navigating wait times, service costs and provider availability can be stressful. We streamline the process by matching you with trusted physiotherapy providers in your local area that have immediate capacity. \Here’s how our free matching service works:

STEP 1

Get Personalised Advice Within 20 Minutes

Within 20 minutes of submitting your details, one of our Aged Care Specialists will call you. This is a friendly conversation to understand what is happening right now, recovering from surgery, managing a recent fall, or addressing ongoing pain. We ask about your location, assessed needs and preferences so we can match you with providers who offer the right clinical expertise.

STEP 2

Receive a Shortlist of Providers With Real Availability

Once we confirm your needs, location, budget and preferences, we get to work straight away. Using our live database of home care providers, we create a Personalised Options Report tailored specifically to your situation. You’ll receive your report by email shortly after your call. It includes a focused list of providers with real availability, all experienced in delivering physiotherapy services and restorative care.

STEP 3

Choose the Right Provider With Expert Support

Your Aged Care Specialist will walk you through your options, explain the differences between providers and help you narrow down your shortlist. Once you’ve chosen your favourites, we can contact providers on your behalf to arrange introductory calls or meetings. You stay in control of the decision; we simply make the process easier.

STEP 4

Start Care With Ongoing Support if Needs Change

When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll guide you through the next steps, including service agreements, start dates, and what to expect during your first few visits. And if care needs change or a provider doesn’t feel like the right fit, let us know. Your Aged Care Specialist can refresh your options and help you find a better match.

Take the Uncertainty Out of Choosing In-Home Physiotherapy

Staying mobile and managing pain is key to keeping your independence at home. Whether recovering from a fall, managing arthritis or wanting to move with more confidence, the right physiotherapy support can make a real difference.
